CORoNaVIRUS (COVID-19) DISEASE INFORMATION

Neighbors,

On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, Governor Abbott issued an Executive Order to include the extension of the restrictive social guidelines and the non-essential business orders through April 30, 2020.  On Monday, April 6th, 2020, I along with the Wolfforth City Council proclaimed a Second Declaration of Disaster No. 2020-D02 to align the City of Wolfforth’s directive with Governor Abbott’s orders.  The full Second Declaration of Disaster No. 2020-D02 can be found at the below provided link.

This global impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is unprecedented and we have not experienced anything like it in our lifetimes.  I know that as we face these challenges together, the effects of COVID-19 are already significant for many in our City.  Our citizens, our friends, our family and neighbors are experiencing lost wages, dropped hours, lost rent and lost business.  Know that the City Council, the City employees and I will continue to work together to help our community persevere and recover.  I also want to assure you that we are working diligently to address both the continuity of our own internal City operations and the services that the City and our partners provide.  We are committed to working with the state, county, neighboring cities and school districts to ensure that services needed by our neighbors are not disrupted.  We will continue to update you both here, on this website, and across our city’s social media platforms.  Please take care, stay safe and stay tuned.

Dr. Charles Addington

Mayor, City of Wolfforth

The City of Wolfforth is actively monitoring directives as issued by Governor Abbott and  monitoring the daily reports of COVID-19 infections and related deaths as provided by the City of Lubbock and Lubbock County.
